Computer OS lifespan experiment?

just to see,- has anyone ever been on internet with absolutely NO anti virus or spyware protection what so ever just to see how long it would last before you picked it up and launched it out the window because you couldn't see for banners and pop ups everywhere. i wonder how long you could last!!

yea.. i had a computer without internet that lasted for years.. lol.. but seriously, we had a computer with very little anivirus, really not any, and it lasted about two years, until it was too slow to use and had a ton of pop-ups even with the internet long. this was microsoft, so i have no idea how long a mac would last...

I've never done it, cause i don't want that kind of aggravation, but i recently spent days cleaning up a new PC, that the user, when they bought it, only had a 90 day trial for anti-virus and all that.

They called me like 2 weeks after it, the trial, ran out, they could do nothing with it. It was so full of crap and junk it was PITIFUL.
I had WinXP Pro it last max 3 month, but i think Windows media center is longlasting it is now 8 month with no major problem %26#123;Including Internet connection%26#125;.
Give up using Windows, and install Linux on your computer. Linux is immune to all viruses, malware, spyware and adware.

Linux is a complete operating system that is either free or very cheap ($10-$30) and comes bundled with a huge variety of free software.

The Linux desktop is amazingly flexible and customizable, and anyone who is used to Windows will soon feel comfortable with it - and shocked by how dull their old Windows system looks by comparison! For example, in Linux you can use up to twenty (yes twenty) separate desktop work spaces - Windows only gives you one.

Go to www.distrowatch.com to find out how to get all the popular flavors of Linux...

...then do an image search for Linux screen grabs on Google.
