I don't think so, but AVG is bad at finding viruses, let alone spyware. I recommend that you use this free selection of software, replacing AVG with Avira:

Yes. I would advise looking at the history and then scan results at intervals. If you look at the warnings tab, there are a lot of less serious cookies shown quite often. I periodically select Delete all unhealed as a further clean up. Not essential, but makes me happy.
