Computer safety?

What would your suggestion be for the best comprehensive, regularly updated yet simple program in terms of anti-virus, firewall, spyware, etc. protection? Also, I have recently heard of Kaspersky. Any feedback on this?

And what browser and Internet company do you suggest most?

Also, when having installed such a program, is it alright to install something else like McAfee (one interesting thing about McAfee is the site advisor) or another free home edition protection? Is it not compatible, not necessary or simply preferable not to, or does it provide an added protection?

Any programs you would not recommend?

Thank you,

the main thing u want to avoid is having multiple apps running active protection ... other thanthat u can have as many as u want ... imo run a software firewall like zonealarm .. use firefox or opera .. have a couple of freeware antispywares and run only one antivirus .. imo avast is fine ... i havent used an actual antivirus application in several years because i find them problematic and system hogging ... i find a disk backup and mirroring application the way to go personally but in reality if u dont use p2p or porn sites u wont have a problem with viruses .. i havent had a virus with NO antivirus installed in 3 years ..
