My computers, Microsoft Internet explorer says my computer is infected but my Norton scan does not f

Yahoo says i need to down load IE defender to find and remove the problem. When I down load IE defender it says I have some Trojan virus and malware problems, but Norton says different. My Internet surfing is completely slowed and I get a Microsoft warning every 30 seconds to fix the problem. I only run into slowing problems and rerouting to different sites on the internet. When I'm offline, I have no problems or slowing. My Norton Protection center says all is secure but my HP Total Care Advisor says it does not have a anti virus programm installed and that the fire wall is off. The norton and hp care used to work together but now its not in sync. Any ideas whats going on?
