New user accounts to XP and multiple virus detections?

has anyone heard of an STSNAdmin?

One of my friends gave me their laptop so i can reformat it

because there's a lot of corruptions..(go figure, 17 year old boy....) and he gave it to me so i can reformat it...

i tried that but it said the OS is a newer version than my XP cd..

so i've downloaded Spybot: Search and Destroy and Super anti spyware...but that still hasn't helped. Internet Explorer is REALLY screwed up to a point where i have deleted it or whatever but there's still pop ups from sites like "Advanced Cleaner" and "Secure PC Cleaner"...and now it's even popping up on Firefox....his laptop was an old laptop his dad used that his work gave him. so my last resort is making a new user account and then when i'm on that deleting the old one? i don't know, just a thought. but when i tried it says it's restricted and against the STSNAdmin operation or something like that.

Also, the background keeps changing back to "Your Privacy is in Danger" download privacy protection now....

My recommendations, after backing up any data (hopefully you can skip that step):

1) download a fresh set of security software for this laptop from the choices here:

firewall:

Comodo (http://www.comodo.com), or

PC Tools (http://www.pctools.com/firewall)
